Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sulphur (Lake Charles) by IHG

I switched Hotels a few weeks ago, from Lake Charles proper to this Holiday Inn Express in Sulphur when the I-210 bridge started lane closures for maintenance. I'm sure glad I did. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my experience here. The rooms are clean, bright, and spacious. A free home style catered meal is provided free each week night. BEST of all is Drew (front desk). Drew provides a level of customer service that I rarely see any more. He takes the time to learn your name and those tiny details about your work and travel. He makes you feel like you're returning home when you are away from home! BIG thank you to Drew!

My husband and I operate our own trucking company and we are on the road a lot with both of our toddlers. This hotel was such a place of comfort and respite after a long day of trucking. They offered complimentary dinner which we’ve never experienced and their pool and hot tub were working which as a mom of little kids who are in the truck all day it’s nice to have indoor heated pool and hot tub to get their energy out! The hotel was so clean and all the staff was so nice. Drew was the manager on duty when we checked in and he felt like he’d known us for years. He’s so friendly and professional while yet welcoming and accommodating! He went above and beyond to insure we enjoyed our stay and all got a great restful evening! This is going on our list of favorite hotels to stop at on our truck routes!

Great experience while staying their staff so friendly and helpful. The receptionist she was so nice and helpful thank you. Rooms are well kept clean. The pool was great recommend.

Really nice rooms and the hot tub is always hot! Great staff and located close to casinos and creole nature trails.

Where can I start? This place is amazingly perfect for quite relaxing get away. The rooms were clean, most of the staffs were so nice and friendly. The breakfast was delicious, fresh,and hot. The guy working in breakfast was amazing. Jace I believe sorry if I didn't say the correct name The housekeeper lady was so nice and bubbly lol. Front desk the lady thats moving. Forgot her name sorry. Thanks everyone for a wonderful experience.

In todays world, the staff at this hotel takes the term hospitality to whole new level. Rooms were super clean, housekeeping every day, and even had dinner waiting on their guests when I arrived. Definitely a place I would return to again. ! Spend a lot of time on the road, and this hotel comes in at the top of the list. Thanks for a great stay!!

It was a good stay. The room was very clean. The water pressure was great. They have Dove products in their bathrooms. I cranked the thermostat down and it stayed ice cold. Big selection for breakfast and tasty. The staff were all friendly and helpful. All the amenities- gym, pool, ice machine, fridges, and probably more that I am unaware of

Very nice hotel, would stay here again. But had to take away one star. The hotel is nice, modern, and clean, a perfect overnight stop during our road trip. But . . The fellow who checked us in on July 30 at around 4:30 pm was the first person in my hotel history (IHG, Hilton, Marriott) that my government issued photo ID card as a military member was not acceptable as ID. He only wanted to see my "driver license". It was harder to retrieve at that time, but I accommodated him though I knew he was wrong. The employee at the desk during next day's checkout confirmed this was an error on his part, though the day before he said he was required to do this. Next thing -- It was a stormy day and we needed to find a restaurant, which we drove to immediately after checking in. Upon returning, we see a lobby sign that says guests are invited to partake in a light meal (pork chops this time), much the way Drury Inn does. Why didn't he tell us of this? It would have saved us some trouble during a bad weather day. The fellow was never impolite, but definitely needs some additional training. Still, very nice hotel, would definitely return, but will realize I may need to take the lead regarding proper IDs and asking about hotel amenities.
